Travel & Accommodations

Welcome to Visalia!

Rachel's hometown, Visalia, is nestled in the heart of California's Central Valley. We hope you enjoy the small-town charm!

How to Get Here

Fly into Fresno

The nearest major airport is Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT), which is about a 45 minute drive from Visalia.

Drive from NorCal

We recommend taking I-5 south (CA-99 is usually a bumpy mess of construction) and connecting to CA-198. Stop at Harris Ranch on the way for surprisingly good BBQ tri-tip.

Drive from SoCal

Taking I-5 and/or CA-99 north will likely be the most direct route. Please note there may be traffic closures over the Grapevine due to fire season.

Hotels

Things To Do Nearby

Trees and Mountains

National Parks

The Ash Mountain entrance to Sequoia National Park is only a 45 minute drive from Visalia, while Kings Canyon National Park is about an hour and a half. SNP is home to the tallest tree in the world.

Coffee

Food & Drink

There's many unique places to eat around Visalia! We love Component Coffee Lab, Javi's Tacos, and Sushi Kuu, just to name a few. The Thursday night farmers' market also has amazing local produce.

Small-Town Charm

A short jaunt into the foothills to the little town of Three Rivers is a local favorite for the views. The ice cream at Reimer's makes it doubly worth it! Downtown Visalia also often has events scheduled.
